2007 - A GREAT YEAR

2007 has been a great year! 7 is my lucky number and it made good on its promise. It's been a year of new beginnings, new challenges and new friendships. I wrote new songs, met new people, started an indie record label, released my first album, got to hear my music on the radio, and so much more. I feel very blessed, healthy, happy and hopeful.

Thanks to everyone who believed and still does! I celebrate each of you.

A toast to 07, it was a very good year. And cheers to 08, it's gonna be great!

THANKSGIVING

So I've been thinking (...uh oh!) how blessed this year has been (don't worry, I'm not getting religious - but I do surely love my God.)

It hasn't been easy - just blessed.
New friends, old friends, good times, scary times, illness, reprieves.
Music, laughter, love, gratitude, awareness.
Home, choice, freedom, patience, generousity.
Dostoevsky, Harry Potter, The Fray, "Studio 60," (they dropped the ball on that one) "We Are Marshall."
Mom and Dad, family, forgiveness, forever... and you all.
Kids in uniforms in countries too far away, giving everything for nothing - God Bless them.
Maybe it's just perception, subjectivity or fantasy?

But this time of year I grab everyone I know, and some I don't, and say I love you and thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,
From me and mine...

PAT MONAHAN

I went to see Pat Monahan at The Paradise in Boston tonight. He's on tour for his solo album Last of Seven. Seriously, if you don't own every album that Train, and Pat, have ever made - go get them! I think he's one of the most brilliant singers and songwriters of our generation. Very inspiring.

Thank you all for your steadfast support. I really can't express what it feels like to hold in my hands a year's worth of work in tangible form.

ALBUM COVER

Had my second photo shoot today for Here We Go Again with the phenomenal photographer Antonio D. Paterniti. We shot at a train station, in NYC by the Flatiron building, in a subway station, and in a park. Antonio is a cool dude who will do anything for a photo - including laying down in the street on 5th Avenue! Thankfully our trusty team (communicating with their high tech cell to cell set up - read cans and strings) was able to warn him just in time as the light turned green.

Another great day. And as it would turn out, the train I've rode into NYC for the last decade won the coveted prize of album cover photo!

Sometimes the best things in life ARE just right around the corner.

THE FINE PRINT

Hey all! I'm happy to share that things with Here We Go Again and West Avenue Records are moving along. We're just finishing up some stuff for the album and are dotting our i's and crossing our t's to prep for its release. Thankfully, we've now got Jeff Worob to help us with all that "fine print" stuff as I've recently joined the client roster of Serling Rooks & Ferrara, LLP, alongside some of my favorite artists, including Maroon 5, John Mayer, and The Fray.

We're announcing the release date for the album soon so check back often for details...

JEFF JULIANO - GUY WHO MIXES RECORDS

Hey everyone! I'm psyched to let you know that Grammy Award-winning mix engineer Jeff Juliano (John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Dave Matthews Band) is mixing Here We Go Again. He's a hell of a guy, not to mention a true professional, and Steve and I are stoked to join him in his Maryland studio for the final recalls - and to finally experience the genius of crab cakes and beer.

SOHO, NYC PHOTO SHOOT

Today I shot with the brilliant photographer Michael Keel on Greene Street in SoHo, NYC for Here We Go Again.

After hours of wardrobe changes, hair primping, makeup (yes, makeup!), and shooting, I was exhausted but excited to see that we got some great shots. I ended my day of "modeling" but guzzling beer and eating red meat.

Thanks to Michael Keel, Joanie, Steve, and Lala for making the day so fun!

JULIO FERNANDEZ

Today I had the ultimate honor of having my friend and renowned Spyro Gyra guitarist, Julio Fernandez, lend his amazing talent to three tracks on my album: "Pretend," "Guardian Angel," and "Disturbed."

Steve and I spent most of the day in the studio with chills up our spines as Julio played nylon string and electric guitar on these songs. He is incredible. He started to play this Flamenco vibe on "Disturbed" and immediately the whole energy of the track changed. It was a magical session! You can hear these songs at www.michaelnappi.com and at www.myspace.com/michaelnappi.

¡Oscilas a Julio! Gracias eternas.

MUSIC TEACHER

Wow! My junior high school music teacher, Alan Binder, showed up at my Palmer's Crossing gig tonight! What a surprise! This guy taught me how to play guitar and invited me to join his rock band when I was in high school. Here he is throwin' down a tune with me. (I can call him Alan now too.)

Thanks Alan!

NEW YEAR, NEW SONG, ANY SNOW?

Happy New Year friends! Here's wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2007.

2006 wrapped up leaving me so much to be grateful for. It was an amazing year full of new beginnings and I thank all of you again for your love and unending support. "It takes a village to raise a child," and a lot of family, friends and fans to make an artist successful.

I'm kicking off the new year with "Disturbed." It's one of my favorite songs and the first of many new tunes coming your way in the next few months. Producer Steve Buonanotte and I are having a blast in the studio and the future looks bright. You can hear "Disturbed" at www.michaelnappi.com and at www.myspace.com/michaelnappi.

And please, a favor..I want snow! If anyone in CO, or any other state with snow, wouldn't mind sending me a shovel full I'd greatly appreciate it. It's bizarre to ring in the New Year in NYC with 60 degree temperatures!

Love and peace,
Nap
